David Monahan is an American actor, writer and producer. Monahan portrays Tobey Barrett on Dawson's Creek.
Career[]
After his time on Dawson's Creek, Monahan steadily appeared in many shows including, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Angel, NCIS, Cold Case, Supernatural, The Mentalist, House, Rizzoli & Isles, Dexter, Revenge, The Client List and Bones. From 2004-2007, he recurred as Detective Matt Seely on Crossing Jordan. In 2013, Monahan transitioned into writing and producing, joining the Disney Channel series Liv and Maddie from 2013-2017. In 2018-19, David wrote and produced on the Netflix series Insatiable and CBS' Life in Pieces. Currently, he serves as co-executive producer and writer on Ginny & Georgia. Monahan continues to act however, appearing as Bernard in the hit HBO drama Big Little Lies.
